Two for One

David introduced me to Flickr a few months ago. I enjoy browsing the photos that individuals share and at times it inspires me to take pictures of things I would not normally take. In the search engine I will type in places or things that I am familiar with and just browse. Today I typed in Decatur County Georgia (this is where David & Angela) were born. This is what I found (among other things).

Molding

Summer is just around the corner – 58 days if anyone is counting – and with summer on the horizon it’s time for a summer haircut. Honestly, no matter which season it is I go for the summer haircut every time. There is just something about short hair that I enjoy.

I enjoy a new hairstyle – at least until the next morning! Your shower is complete, the makeup is applied, and then it happens . . . you can’t make your hair look like it did when you walked out of the hair salon yesterday. You watched her as she performed her magic yesterday . . . even took notes on how to get “the look and bought the products she used. You could have been sleeping while she worked her magic for all the good it is doing you this morning.

Haircuts have a way of reminding me that I’m not the potter – I’m the clay. “Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in mine.”(Jeremiah 18:6). God is our Creator and He has the power to mold us . We are nothing but clay relying on the Potter’s wonderful working and the more we submit to His molding process, the more we will come out pleasing before Him. My total obedience to the Word of God and a humble attitude to His life-shaping process within me will lead to Christ-likeness As the potter pats the clay for a purpose, so is the Lord in shaping us through chastisement, not to destroy us, but to teach, discipline, and strengthen us. What an awesome manifestation of His great love for us.

My hair will never look as great as it does when I walk out the hair salon. The hair stylist molds my hair to make it look great but more importantly - this piece of clay is in the hand of God and it is being shaped according to His perfect will.

The Happiest Moment in Life

What was the happiest moment in your life? (On stage question last night at Ms. Sugar pageant)

The happiest moment in my life was when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is the one who strengthens me. (Angela's reply to the question).

Sweet Sweet Spirit

I have been meaning to post all week and am just now getting around to it. It's been a good week. One of those weeks where God has shown himself so vividly that there was no mistaking his presence. While I realize that God is present all the time,I have to admit there are times when I take for granted his presence or simply ignore it.

On Thursday of last week our Pastor had emergency surgery for some intestinal problems. Due to complications he was airlifted on Saturday evening to a hospital on the coast. He has been (and still is)a very sick man this week. As of today he is off the ventilator and actually sat in a chair for almost an hour. We are praying that as the days pass he will continue to gain strength and be back with us soon.

It has been a delight to watch our church family pour out their love upon Brian and his family by praying for them, helping out with their two sons, etc. The members of First Baptist Clewiston are such a loving, gracious, and caring body. We had a prayer vigil last night for him and their family so that our body could come together for the specific purpose of lifting him up before the throne. Other churches and individuals in our community joined us. I can’t tell you what a blessing it was to be with other brothers and sisters in Christ interceding for our pastor. What a sweet time of prayer. We are commanded in His Word to pray for one another and to bear one another burdens. Our community and church have done just that this past week. If I haven't been answering emails, I'm answering the phone for updates on him. I’m so glad I’m a part of the family of God!

Continue to pray for Brian, his family and our church. May God receive all the Glory as He shows his majesty and power among these people.

Good Friday

On Friday, Kathy and I drove to Jupiter to check out Riverbend Park and then drove to Hobe Sound to visit Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Overall we walked 15 miles and took over 200 pictures. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed seeing all sorts of wildlife.

Camera Shy

On Sunday afternoon David and I spent time up at the Lake. It was a joy to spend time just one on one with him. I love the times that I get with him alone. He will talk, laugh and share what's on his mind during those times.

I also had the camera with me and we both enjoyed taking pictures. I even talked him into letting me take a few shots of him. I have a hard time getting him in front of a camera, so I snapped away while he was willing.

She's Beautiful

Last night was Prom for CHS. I can't believe the little girl that I've watched grow up is old enough to be going to Prom. My guess is she will have her best friend with her next year. She is a beautiful young lady.

It's even harder to believe that her older brother is a senior and this is his last year attending Prom as a high school student. He is pretty handsome for a boy and all.

The entire group was stunning tonight.

The two that didn't go to Prom were just as pretty.

Birds and Other Odd Things

Along the tour we saw some things that we just were not expecting.

Then again there was more of what we expected.

Birds, Birds and More Birds

The Big "O" Birding festival was amazing. Kathy and I enjoyed being able to spend our Saturday morning doing something other than laundry, which is typical for the both of us on Saturday mornings. We saw a Pileated Woodpecker, a Red Shouldered Hawk, Gators, Otters, Quail, Scrub Jays, Turkey Vultures, a Barred Owl and Meadowlarks. The tour was 3 hours but it didn't seem like it. Due to time constraints and previous commitments we couldn't do but the one tour. We are looking forward to doing the tours at next year's festival.
