I am so proud of David's academic achievements. He was presented with an award for Most Outstanding Microeconomics Student today. Highest average campus wide!!! Go David!!!

First Day as a Junior

I'm slightly prejudice, however, I think my daughter looked absolutely stunning this morning as she walked out the day for her first day as a Junior in high school!

Apopka Weekend by the numbers

11 - number of boys on the team

6 - people sleeping in our hotel room
2 - hours spent in the pool and hot tub combined

8 - hot and sticky hours spent at the baseball field

Catching Up

Wow! Hard to believe that it's been so long since I posted on the blog. Guess that is what happens we you become addicted to Facebook. So what has happened in the life of the Fountain's since the last post. . .

David took a much needed vacation to Atlanta. He has always wanted to go to Turner Field and watch the Braves play on their home field. He had a great week watching baseball games, touring Turner Field, visiting the Aquarium and getting sick from tasting all the different flavors of Coke at the World of Coke.

Angela is out of school for the summer and is content sitting at home chilling. She wants a summer job and has applied at various places in town, but with the economy as it is she hasn't had any luck. But at least the house stays clean and the laundry isn't piled up on the weekends for me to do. She's been a champ doing chores for me!

I've finished my first season of coaching Wee-Ball and already am looking forward to coaching the little ones again next year. I'm having a party for the team on Thursday to give them their trophies and get one last hug. I didn't think I would miss them as much as I do. We finished a week of VBS at church last night. I leave this afternoon for weekend of baseball in Apopka, Florida. The Clewiston Recreation's 14 year old boys will be competing in the Triple Crown High Heat Allstar tournament on Saturday and Sunday (pictures to follow). Most weekends of late I can be found at a baseball field cheering for my significant other's son.

Mother's Day & Graduation

My sister and dad came down on Thursday to visit. It was such a wonderful treat to have them here for Mother's Day and for David's graduation from Palm Beach State College. It was a pretty laid back weekend.

On Sunday evening the five of us drove to Lightys in Lake Port for a delicious seafood dinner and to celebrate Mother's Day.

We are all so proud of David's accomplishments! He graduated with a 3.75 GPA and got his Associates of Arts Degree in Business. His plans right now are to work full time( provided he can find a full time position), figure out where he wants to continue his education and save some more money to help finance his education. He is the first "Fountain" to graduate from college.

Spring Training

We traveled to Lakeland on Monday for the Braves/Tiger Spring Training game. It was a beautiful day for baseball. It's always a joy watching David at a game. The boy could seriously eat, drink, and breathe baseball.

Spring Photo Shoot with Angela

On Saturday Angela and I drove over to West Palm Beach to do a photo shoot. I have been begging for months to do one with her and she finally relented. I loved the outcome! Now if I can talk David into doing one!

There's a Light at the End of the Tunnel

It seems like the past 3 months the house has been in a mess either from walls being torn out, painting being done or new flooring being put in. But praise God, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and we have been blessed with friends that were willing to help out in so many different ways and we were blessed with an unexpected financial gift to help pay for the repairs.

The house is once again back to normal. The only other minor project left is to put in baseboards and that is nothing compared to the other things we have tackled. We are thrilled with the repairs and the way our house looks.

Cherokee Park

While we were visiting family up in Georgia during the Christmas holidays we went to Cherokee Park in Thomasville to take some photos. I wish now that I had taken the time to grab the tripod. Here are just a few of my favorites from the day.

Forging Ahead

We have continued to spend the major part of our weekends painting. We have two more rooms to go and there seems to be an end in a sight. The living and kitchen walls have been completed and once they are painted we can put the paint brushes and rollers away.

Home Repairs

The repairs are moving forward. The open floor plan has been replaced with walls. The next step is to add the door facings and paint. Once that is completed the trim can be put back on. Hopefully that will done within the next 2 or 3 weeks.

While the work was being done on the living room and kitchen walls, we were busy painting the master bathroom. I forgot to take before pictures, so it's difficult to document the changes.

This past weekend we repainted the master bedroom and moved the furniture around. In the midst of putting primer on the walls I remembered to take a before picture. Tonight I took after pictures.


On the makeover agenda this weekend is the kid's bathroom and David's room.
